Cornbelly's

We took the kiddies to Cornbelly's during fall break. I wasn't that excited about it- but I'm so glad we did! Lunch and a 25 cent cone at the deli was a scrumptious way to start...
{Elli, Elliott, Benny, Ollie and Addie (Whose hair is soooo stinkin' cute every time I see it!!!)}
It reminded me of the fair... except there weren't scary people there. Just lots and lots of kids. This huge bubble was a hit. I love Ollie in the picture below. Believe it or not, he's usually timid on trampolines. But they could slide off the side too- I couldn't figure it out. A magic bubble. I want one in my yard...

Me and Linds

Linds= nice mom (let's her kids each have their own snowcone.) Sini=mean mom (make them share with me....)
Cute little piggies.... and cows.
The corn box- how cool is that? They would have played here for a lot longer if we had let them.

Anyway- after I choked down the $12 price tag to get in- it turned out to be a lot of fun. Their ticket in meant they got to do everything inside. And it was so creative. FUN stuff for the kids. Go before Halloween if you haven't yet. Your kids will love it!

flowers and sunsets

Today was one of those crazy busy days. I liked it. Amidst other things (lunch and grocery shopping with my sis, a visit from my parents and watching my friends kids for a bit) this is a recap:
These guys were man-handling Adam's glasses all day. (This would NOT happen if he were home....)

This guy wouldn't eat. What? But that's what you do little Linc.... He went from 6:50 AM until 5:00 PM with no milk. He also slept in until 10 and then took a nap from 1:30 until 5:00. Schedule? What schedule?
I decided to jump at the chance to have my carpet cleaned since Melissa across the street was doing it today too. This is a before picture. I wonder where the coffee table goes? Disgusting!

The sky tonight was AMAZING!

And my kitchen was filled with flowers and girls. My friend Heather taught us how to arrange flowers and we decided to make it fall-ish by putting them in pumpkins. I loooove these cinderella pumpkins. Their color is deep orange red. I found them at a little booth on the side of the road in Lehi. They gave me a sweet deal since I was buying 15. And yes- the couches were in the dining room which made for a squishy time. Who schedules carpet cleaning on the same day they're having young womens at their house? Me. Woops.
Heather and I with our creations. She collected all of these flowers from her yard and other places that were just going to be ripped out soon anyway. Thanks Heather- you're amazing!

9 years

{October 2000 }
It's official- we've been married for 9 years today! We decided to get away last weekend with a little trip to the mountains and stayed the night at Snowbird. Seriously- just a fresh breath of crisp mountain air rejuvenated our marriage for at least another year...

We had fun walking around on the lit paths at night and eating at yummy restaurants (thanks for taking the boys Linds!) but let's not forget our cute little tag-a-along:

I love you Adam! I still think you're the cutest boy I've ever seen! (Except for our 3 other little cuties of course...)

Slippery Linc

My new favorite way to give Lincoln a bath is in the kitchen sink... And- his second tooth popped through yesterday. (Oh the pictures are comin')

Pumpkin Party

When I mentioned a pumpkin party the boys couldn't wait. So on October 2nd they had a few of their little friends over after school to get in the spirit...
They painted pumkins...

Ate dangling donuts...

(This was so fun to watch. I'm not even sure if this is a Halloween tradition- but it's in one of our Halloween books so the boys insisted on it.)

And they finished up by making scary candy necklaces and watching a fun Halloween movie. The end.

Wednesday

So this is a Wednesday? I'm usually running around trying to get everything ready for the Young Women activity. Calling girls. Talking to the other leaders. Planning dinner so it can be done and we can eat before I take off. But not today. (Oh- don't worry- the scurrying will come tomorrow- planning rides for 60 kids since it's with the boys too- up to S.L. to work in the Humanitarian Aid Center.... having a 4 hour activity instead of an hour or two.... and missing my book club :( but that's tomorrow.... ) Today I'm trying to relax with the boys. Elliott has a friend over. Ollie is trying to tag along. And baby Lincoln isn't feeling so great and wants to be held all day. He is so calm in my arms- not the little jumping bean he usually is. But I'm glad I can hold him and not worry about having everything ready for tonight. Wednesday nights off have been very few- usually around Christmas or other holidays. It feels like I want to celebrate- go to dinner or something. But at the same time I want to stay home. It'll be weird to have the night off permanently some day- it's been a while. I was thinking back and Ollie had just turned one- and now he's almost 4!

We talked about this for family home evening the other night. Ollie picked the lesson about the "Widow's Mite" (those golden coins that go with the lesson are so tempting!) We have had this same lesson before- lots of times. But this time we talked about how she was sacrificing for her church. We talked to the boys that we sacrifice with our time too- like in YW and Scouts (Adam's been cub master FOREVER!) I'm not sure they understand completely yet. But it's such a part of their lives. Every time we go to Costco they ask if this receipt is ours or for the bishop. So many times I will have treats ready for the girls and the boys want some. I always say if there's any extra they can have some. And there never is. They've gone on so many walks with me to visit the girls for their birthdays or whatever. So really our whole family is sacrificing. And the other leaders have sacrificed so much more.

But the girls in our ward! I could go on and on about them! They are so sweet and humble and good! I just can't believe they are teenagers sometimes. And the sacrifice is worth it. But I'll take this Wednesday as my own.
