coloring eggs

Elliott's friend, Noah was over when we colored eggs this year. Note to self: boil two dozen eggs instead of 1 dozen... the boys wanted to color more than three.

Noah ate two of his eggs, minus the yolks. Yolks are my favorite part. Elliott and Ollie didn't eat any.

Linc came to color after his nap. He loved moving the egg from one color, to the next and the next. Then he would get excited and smack the egg on the counter... so we'd move to the next egg.

Poor Linc has a sore on his face... we're working on it. Between him and Elliott having these things every so often, we're going through lots of antibiotic ointment. :(

I wanted to try some natural dye with spices from my cupboard like this, but we ran out of eggs. Maybe I'll do it with hollowed out eggs earlier next year for Easter decor.

egg hunt

I've found we can skip all the craziness of the huge public egg hunts and just go to my parent's backyard with the cousins. It is so calm and lovely. I caught Elliott and Ollie talking about it a couple of weeks before- they were excited, but complained they had to wait for the babies to go first. Stinkers. Linc snuck in front of little Miss Melora- he was supposed to be second.
"GUM?!" This is Linc's answer to any candy or gum.

I had to hunt for Linc and found him visiting the neighbor's horse.

We had a delicious dinner and thought this was a festive jello my mom made...
And, you've got to try these bird nest desserts... 10 times better than rice crispie treats-- just use hard chow mein noodles and add coconut... So tasty.

easter sunday

I have so many pictures from our fun Easter weekend. It's kind of overwhelming. I hate narrowing it down, (as you may know.) But here are some of the boys before church. I've never been one to get special Easter outfits, although I'm sure that would change if there were tiny dresses involved. I think little ties are cute on boys, but they're not interested. Isn't Adam a cute Daddy?

spring break

We stayed busy on Spring Break... even if it was freezing outside most of the time.

I even (gulp) took the boys to Chuck E Cheese one day. I haven't been forever because it's not my favorite place. That's usually Daddy's destination with the boys. But they LOVED it. And it wasn't so bad.

Linds and I let our kids pick out cupcakes at The Sweet Tooth Fairy... yummy! This might have to become tradition on days off of school.

 Linc decided on a sucker.

What do people think when they see us coming with all of our kids?!
Oh well- everything is more fun when we're all together.
Taking a bite of Elliott's red velvet cupcake.
Ollie didn't care about the flavor, just the sprinkles.

cute Linds

We even went to see a couple of movies over the break... Born to be Wild, which was super cute and about people who took care of orpahaned baby elephants and orangutans. It was only about 45 minutes though... Hop, which the boys loved, and Rio, which we all liked. I guess that's what you do when the weather doesn't cooperate?
At the fountain at our favorite movie theater.

I took these boys swimming while Adam was visiting record stores for National Record Day on Saturday. Oh, you didn't know there was such a thing? Neither does most of the world...
These guys always want to draw when they get together... and they laugh their heads off. They draw funny pictures for each other to laugh at. Silly boys.

And mostly I just saw lots of little boys running around our yard and house. It's mostly Elliott's friends for now, but it will be weird when they each have 3 boys over to play. Heaven help me.

Elliott and Ollie also got to spend the day and sleep over with Grammy and Grandpa. They thought that was the best! We loved spring break and can't wait for summer in 7 weeks! Elliott has made his countdown and is marking off the days...
