st. patty's day

What do you do when you forget to buy a green treat for your first grader to share with his class and it's midnight? You make one up!
We've actually never done anything special for St. Patrick's Day except for wear all green. Elliott was bringing all these stories home from kids at school about how the leprechaun had tricked them and kept asking why we had never had one at our house. Um, thank goodness Leprechaun Pete left a little treasure hunt for the boys when they woke up. (Found at modern parents, messy kids- such cute ideas!) It led them to their shoes for the next clue...
 ...then their gloves...

... and finally to their golden treasure under their plates.

Little Linc enjoying his St. Patty's treasure.
That tricky leprechaun even turned our milk and pancakes green.
The boys in their green. Fake smile anyone?
This is when I told them to smile for real...
 Linc! Look up here!
Linc, up here! Thanks Ollie for your...uh... help.
Ah well, another fantastic photo shoot. The boys had fun all day long. Pete even turned our ottoman upside down and threw the pillows on the floor. I was glad he kept it mostly clean. Later on in the day Ollie told me that Pete had messed up the downstairs too and to come and see. TOYS EVERYWHERE. Thrown out of every bin and box. So. Very. Messy. I asked Ollie if it was really him and not Pete. He told me no, it was Pete. How can I fight him on that I ask you? Backfire.

For dessert we had a fruit rainbow. The kids LOVED this and ate every last piece. Maybe next time I'll have to do a DOUBLE RAINBOW?

What a fun St. Patrick's Day!! Such cute things your leprechaun did. I really love how Ollie used the leprechaun to his advantage on messing up the toys. He is such a smart boy :).

I'm always checking in on linds to see if she has updated her blog. It's been a long time. But you are always at the top of her blog list. How do you keep so on top of updating your blog? And you do such fun things with your kids. I want to join your fam for a while to have some fun and get some good ideas.

your cute! I did a rainbow too, but it was a little less healthy than yours... it was made out of skittles. That is all I did. Next year I will have to do something more fun! Can you give Pete my address?!
