oh boy!

14 week ultrasound
It's a boy! It's a boy! It's a BOY!

We are still in a little bit of shock over here- I mean who has four boys???
I actually know a few people who do... and I think they are all great!
We found out on Thursday at a quick doctor appt.
The month before, Dr. Bean said to bring my husband if I wanted and we would look really quick to find out the gender.
The week leading up to the appointment, we really started getting excited and some nights both of us were too excited to sleep!
I love finding out the gender- it makes the pregnancy real to me and we can start the planning and naming and calling him a "he" instead of it.
(I'll be honest, we were already calling him a he...)
We had been looking through old blog posts and picture books of our cute baby boys and were getting so excited for a baby--- boy or girl.

So we go to an early appointment so Adam doesn't have to miss much work and the doc is running behind... almost 45 min late!
We finally got into the ultrasound room (Linc was with us) and Dr. Bean rushes in and says it's just going to be quick to see, and pulls up the ultrasound on a big screen right in front of us.
He moves the wand around on my stomach for one second before he says, "Oh- there we go- can you see it?"
Adam starts laughing and says, "Oh yeah! That's a boy!"
I'm trying to understand the ultrasound because it's all happened so fast,
(And let's again be honest- I am the worst ultrasound decipherer around...)
so I'm saying, "Where? Where? I don't see it!"
And the doc says- yes- it's a boy!
He types boy right next to the determining factor and we both are laughing hysterically.
After a few questions I had we were out the door.

We went to the parking lot and laughed some more and hugged and decided on a name we have both loved forever and started texting our family and friends the news.

Adam left for work and I left for a chiropractic appt with my brother in Draper.
We called each other on the drive, laughing about things and how we couldn't believe it.
After we hung up,  I suddenly I felt so overwhelmed and happy and bawled the whole drive on the freeway.
Heavenly Father really wants us to have FOUR boys?
How would I ever teach them to be good and happy?
They were happy tears and I gave a little thank you prayer in my heart.
But there was also a little bit of sadness that we won't ever have a girl, and maybe relief that we don't need to buy one thing (except for a new crib since our last one was trashed) since we have everything for a boy!
But mostly they were happy tears.

Oh yeah, when we got to the parking lot Adam said that if they would have said girl, he thought we would have to try again for a boy since he had his heart set on a boy.
But during the ultrasound when they announced boy, I was thinking we'll just have to try again for a girl.

So funny. Because we are done!

And I knew already that it was a boy because that's what we know, but I couldn't help think that it was still 50/50 chance right???

Crazy business.

The funniest is the consoling people are giving me about it not being a girl.
I think it's great since I was holding out for that chance.
But we are officially past it and are so excited now that I don't know how we'll even wait!
Good thing the holidays are upon us to keep us busy until February.

Yay! So happy for you! Babies are such a blessing. You are a special mamma for being given the chance to parent 4 little men. Don't mind those consoling people ;) There is those of us out there that would give their right arm to have one of either gender. :)

I totally got baby hungry, too, looking at your little babies!! So cute. That's so exciting! A lady in my ward has SEVEN boys and no girls. Can you imagine?? (Maybe yes?) I love their rough and tumble household. It's awesome! Congrats!
