spring board

We decided to take advantage of all the snow still falling in the mountains this spring and go snowboarding! It's spring break for the kids this week, so we put Elliott in another lesson while Grammy and Grandpa watched Ollie and Linc. We almost got Ollie to go...
We met up with our good friends, the Greens whose kids were also in the lessons.
They are an amazing couple and family.

We went on Wednesday so it was EMPTY! The weather was just right too- nice and warm and partly cloudy. The skies were amazing and the clouds were moving so fast, I was nervous that a storm was moving in, but it stayed nice.

 Lis, Adam and Dale

 Lis-- the snowboard pro.
 Adam-- the semi-pro
 Dale-- the pro photographer

Lis in action- so graceful!

Elliott learned a little more on his second lesson, but was really excited to, "do whatever I want" and not what his teacher kept trying to get him to do. (Ride on his toes too instead of just his heels.)
After lunch we headed back up, minus a few layers of clothing since it was heating up.
I think it made it to the high 50's up there.

I love riding on the lifts as much as I love going down! It's so quiet and peaceful and BEAUTIFUL!

Getting tired... snowboarding is so exhausting and exhilarating at the same time!

Elliott did so good. He's a little trooper.
When he finally ran out of steam, Adam and I took turns going by ourselves.

We slid down the hill and threw snowballs while we waited. The snow was soooo soft in the end, like butta. So nice to board in. I told E our boards were like knives and the snow was like butter, he liked that.
My board, Elliott's board

The parking lot was so empty! Going on weekdays is definitely the way to go.

Finding the lifts we rode on the resort map.
Elliott and Ollie both love maps, so he brought one home for Ollie too.

Elliott was quiet on the way home, but he kept himself busy like this...

I told Elliott I'm so glad he likes snowboarding, so now we can do it together! It's one of my favorite things! I'm excited for Ollie and Linc to learn someday too, and the sooner the better. I'm no spring chicken you know...

I'm sure Ryan would be jealous of this post. He tries to get me to go snowboarding with him, but I hate going because I can NEVER get off the lift without falling on my face..sad right? Loks like you guys had a great time!
